Since I found out I was pregnant one of the my biggest focus' has been on how to save money! Well, I am always looking at ways to save money, but since I will be on an unpaid maternity leave I really have to focus on somehow saving two months of bills when I am only making a little more than my bills cost each month.
This section of my blog is a compiled list of coupons, free stuff, inexpensive ideas that I have found helpful.
Dreft- a detergent you should wash any and everything your baby will wear on it's skin. (clothes, blankets, socks. etc) I had a mini heart attack today when I went to target to "check out" the price. I know it's for a baby so the detergent will go a lot further than what we use. I went online to their website and found a $2.00 off coupon. Two bucks isn't much when your paying $20 of laundry detergent but hey a penny saved is a penny earned! Click HERE for the link to get the coupon. American Baby Magazine- My doctor gave me a few magazines about babies and parenting. I really liked them! I was looking at the inserts to order one and it turns out they will send you a year subscription for free! I found a website you can fill out your info to and it will get you the magazine at no charge! I love these magazines because they have great tips and reviews on products! Click HERE for the link.
Free carseat canopy- I got a free carseat canopy for next winter! You just have to pay shipping which was $12.95, but for a $60 canopy, that's a great deal! I got mine in the mail last week and LOOOVE it. It has one side to connect to the car seat and the inside the is my the baby is the minkey fabric so it's so soft. Free nursing pillow- I know many people will register for these, but if this is your second child or you are looking for a gift to give you can get a free nursing pillow from nursingpillow.com again you just have yo pay shipping which is believe is again the $12.95. The pillow is a $40 value! Use coupon code ABDECNP at checkout! I have not purchase this but I would assume it wouls be a lot like the carseat. I browsed the website and they have minky pillows as well, they are just a little more!
Prenatal vitamins- I heard Schnucks give them out for free, I already have some so I have not tried to get any more. What I did for mine since they can be a little pricey is I went to our Bed Bath and Beyond on Mid Rivers since they have a section of vitamins, shampoos and all dry products. I used a $5 off a $15 purchase. I got $15 worth of prenatal vitams for only $10. You can also go to nursingblend.com and use coupon code ABNB for 10% their prenatal vitamins.
Breast pump- I called my insurance company and asked them if they covered a breast pump 100% they said they will cover a manual one and gave me a number to call and order one. I would give this a try! It saves you like $50-$60. I jsut did this today, so I will keep everyone posted on the process.
